Yes, I do. I have spent much of my professional life travelling all over Victoria, and I am happy to go to any part of the state, along with a videographer.

Travel beyond 100 kilometres does incur a cost — 88 cents per kilometre beyond the 100-kilometre radius, as ratified by the Australian Tax Office.

The videographer shoots while I do the interview. We use two cameras. One is set up to face directly towards the interview subject, the other is set up at an angle. We use lighting if necessary.

I discourage onlookers and a listening gallery. When someone is interviewed in the presence of others, it’s only natural for them to perform for the audience and tailor their answers for those present.

I would rather the interview be as honest and professional as possible. Let the pleasure of hearing the stories emerge during the viewing of the film.
